High Output

Last Friday night the crew from Good Natured Dog Productions and Friends decided to paint the town red and attend the High Output Party. Here is a quick over view of the fun that evening, FROM EACH OF US!

Beer, food, and so much dancing.  I learned to appreciate Britney Spears more recent hits (it makes you want to dance!), got to see the dance floor clear out to make room for Jamie’s back flips, and went the whole night without spilling any of my drinks.  Also, I would like to personally thank Ben Zidel for showing me where the restroom was located.  If it were not for him I might still be lost in High Output somewhere.  It was great to hang out and dance with everyone and catch up with a lot of friends that I had not seen in a while, and also make some new ones.  The dance floor was incredible and I probably would have been content just staring at that all night.  Looking forward to next year!

DANCING FOOLS!

So this weekend the GND crew and I braved the winter wonderland (hardly) and attended the High Output Party at their Canton sound stage studio. What were they celebrating? Hardly seemed relevant. It was an excuse to cut loose with some old friends, break in the LED dance floor and wash down the appetizers with the open bar’s solid selection.

This was my second time kicking it at this shindig, last years event seemed more formal. They had a DJ instead of a band this year and a glowing dance floor that would of made Hunter S. Thompson collapse in ecstasy. With a younger crowd and a more entertainment driven evening, the High Output Party put out on this frosty January Weekend.

Shout out to Engineroom’s Danielle Statuto for getting the dance floor into a frenzy!

They came, they danced, they networked….

As the guy who didn’t do much of either of those things, except for come……. I can positively say that I had a good time at High Output’s networking party. Despite me spending most of the time judging people based on their choices of dancing styles and over tipping for the average service provided by each of the staff members, I’d say I’d attend next year’s event. However, I still don’t think I understood the projected display of empty party rooms that filled the studio’s blank wall. That being said, I’ll be sure to hire High Output to decorate my next event in which I plan to celebrate their skills for interior design in one of my vacant party rooms.

So Posh!

My back hurt the whole time and it was hard to stand up. Luckily there was enough seating to get comfortable and an open bar. This made the night much more enjoyable. White people dance funny.

The High Output party was a good time. It’s always great to talk with fellow filmmakers outside of work. At some point in the beginning of the night, someone asked me what I thought of the different setup for the party this year, i.e. the whole stage, riser and steps thing. I said to them that it seemed kind of pointless for the small amount of people in such a big space, and after the event that transpired last night, that stupid ass stage thing was a safety hazard.

Towards the end of the night Alecia slipped and feel down half a flight of those steps and smacked her head on the floor splitting her chin open. This abruptly ended our party and started our night in the Emergency room!!! After nine hours of hospitals our night ended around 9am in the morning!!

Some party!!!

The High Output party never ceases to amaze me. What I do remember was a blur of lights and sounds, and dancing. PLENTY OF DANCING. Often one does not get into a dance fight at many upstanding parties, but it happened. Do I have any regrets? Only that I have but one life to give dance floor.

High output was fun! Compared to last year the crowd seemed younger, and hipper. I think I gave away every business card I had, connected with some old friends and made some new ones! Most importantly the gang got together. It’s always a good night when you can hang with your friends and dance your face off.

Oh yeah, that. I fell down some stairs, and cut open my chin. No biggie. High Heels, and grated stage steps do not mix with me. So, went to one ER, get my hands, wrists and jaw checked out. Went to another ER to have a plastic surgeon then stitch me up. All in all, I’m sore.

Those stairs…damn.

So my evening wrapped up the next day at 9am, when we finally got home. I curled up in bed by the fireplace, dreaming of the glowing LED dance floor, and my friends smiling faces. Drugs are good. This was stupid, yet it happens. I’m pretty colors now.
