It’s hard not to love an animated film. They are funny, witty and offer something for movie goers of all ages. The kids love the basics of the films: cute characters, bright vibrant colors and silly jokes. The adults may also love that as well but they can catch the more subtle adult jokes that the filmmakers hide throughout the movie. That is why these movies tend to pull in big buck at the box office, they pull in a much broader audience.
While I didn’t see Despicable Me in the theaters, I was still excited to see it. It’s hard not to be drawn to something that Steve Carrell is attached to. If he is in it, you can usually expect a good laugh. Don’t forget the rest of the cast, Jason Segel, Will Arnet, Russell Brand, and many others that bring humor to the film.
Despicable Me was a fun movie. The voice acting was great, the story was great, and visually it was what you would expect from a newer animated film. Sometimes animated films miss out on the ever important moral of the story, but this did not miss it.
Let’s also not forget to mention the awesome Minions. They deserve recognition all on their own.
Overall, this was a fun movie, with a lot of great laughs. It look amazing on blu-ray and has some good special features.
